Convenience Pack

LYTENSOPRILm is a convenience pack that includes Hypertensa™ and lisinopril. In this dual management system, lisinopril is administered as 20 mg daily while Hypertensa™ is administered once daily. Lisinopril used alone, treats hypertension and is often used as frequently as twice a day. Hypertensa™ is used to manage the nutritional deficiencies associated with hypertension. LYTENSOPRIL™ is a dual management system that includes a pharmaceutical agent to treat hypertension and a Medical Food to manage the associated nutritional deficiency In a clinical crossover study of patients with hypertension, LYTENSOPRIL™ reduced blood pressure more effectively than lisinopril used alone.

When lisinopril was used to treat hypertension, a modest reduction of blood pressure occurred. When the underlying nutritional deficiency was addressed with Hypertensa™, a further reduction of blood pressure occurred. This was a clinical crossover trial. The blood pressure was measured 15 days after initiation of administration.

Lisinopril: Why is this medication prescribed?

Lisinopril is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure. It is used in combination with other medications to treat heart failure. Lisinopril is also used to improve survival after a heart attack. Lisinopril is in a class of medications called angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. These pharmaceutical agents work by decreasing certain chemicals that tighten the blood vessels, so blood flows more smoothly and the heart can pump blood more efficiently

Hypertensa™ is a Medical Food designed to aid in the nutritional management of patients who are treated with ACE inhibitors. Hypertensive patients are frequently deficient in L-Arginine and the Hypertensa™ formula facilitates the production of arginine and choline by the body. Hypertensa stimulates the body to produce neurotransmitters that initiate vasodilatation of constricted arteries in hypertension. Hypertensa™ potentiates nitric oxide production in patients with hypertension.

Hypertensa™aids in the nutritional management of nitric oxide and acetylcholine production deficiencies in patients with hypertension.
